Experts sound off on power, performance, and maintenance.

Domestics. Exotics. Hybrids. Super concepts. From Fords to Ferraris, monster trucks to “can-that-thing-fly?” crazy creations, the 2014 North American International Auto Show held at the COBO Center in Detroit, Michigan had it all.

Being the car nut that you are, it’s safe to say you could get whiplash walking around the show. It’s like a kid going to Disneyland and discovering something cool—and something new—at every turn. It’s almost dizzying not knowing where to look first. But that’s what makes it awesome. Let’s go through a few of those that made their debut this year:

There was the FT-1 unveiled by Toyota in a bid to recapture some of the Supra sizzle. While it’s not guaranteed that this sports coupe concept will hit production, Toyota noted that some of the design elements will definitely find their way into future products.

The reveal of the 2015 Corvette Z06  gave GM some bragging rights, with at least 625 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque. This alternative of the C7 Stingray could shift slots of top production-car performance numbers. It even set the form for the Corvette C7.R race car, which is headed for Daytona later this month.

Yup, there was plenty going on at this world-renowned show to get any gearhead’s engine firing on all cylinders. And there’s going to be plenty more, as the “party” isn’t scheduled to end until the 26th of this month. If you can make it out to Motor City, we highly recommend it. If you can’t, you can take a virtual “walk” around instead—and vicariously feel the vibe of this awesome show:
