The Monster (Mile) Can't Tame Bowyer

The Monster (Mile) Can't Tame Bowyer

Early in the NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, an incident with Kyle Busch damaged Clint Bowyer's No. 15 Michael Waltrip Racing machine.
For any other team, that may have put the driver at least a lap or two down and ruined the day. But the PEAK team and driver refused to lose and repaired the damage, kept Clint on the lead lap, and the Kansas native finished the race P4, his seventh-straight top-10 finish at The Monster Mile.
Over on the NHRA side, the Summernationals at Englishtown, N.J., saw John Force Racing's streak of 15 Funny Car finals appearances in a row finally snapped, but PEAK Nation need not worry; Robert Hight and 16-time and defending class champ John Force are still 1-2 in the points standings.
NHRA has this weekend off before they return to action at Bristol (Tenn.) Dragway and the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Pocono (Penn.) Raceway.
