JFR Takes the Funny Car Sweep of the Western Swing
The third time was the charm for John Force. Twice the NHRA Funny Car runner-up during the legendary Western Swing, the 16-time champ brought home the Wally Sunday in Seattle, his 141st career class victory. The win gave John Force Racing the Western Swing Funny Car sweep, with Robert Hight winning in Denver and Courtney Force winning last weekend in Sonoma. Another PEAK driver saw the Winner's Circle in Seattle as Timothy Fletcher, son of 89-time NHRA winner Dan Fletcher, earn his first-ever Stock victory.
Clint Bowyer had a very strong weekend at Pocono Raceway, taking a fourth-place finish in the Cup Series race on Sunday as well as a fourth-place effort in Saturday's Truck Series event. Bowyer was filling in for John Wes Townley, who was injured during ARCA practice. It was an even bigger weekend for Christian PaHud, who was introduced to the racing world at Pocono Sunday morning, less than 12 hours after he won the 2014 PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge. Christian will race in October in the NASCAR K&N Series for PEAK and Bill McAnally Racing.
