Force Final Postponed to Indy, Bowyer With Top Ten in Michigan
Sixteen-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force continues to show the world that age is just a number. After winning his 141st career Wally at Seattle, Force arrived at Brainerd, winning rounds and making it to his fifth-straight final. Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative, and the final round between Force and Ron Capps has been postponed to the NHRA US Nationals in Indianapolis in two weeks. PEAK-sponsored Top Alcohol pilot Duane Shields is also in a holding pattern until Indy, having won his first two rounds of competition this weekend.
The final spot for the Traxxas Nitro Shootout, an all-star race within a race at the Big Go, is in the fans' hands and Brittany Force needs your help. Head over to the NHRA Facebook page to vote for Force to make the Top Fuel field.
In NASCAR, Clint Bowyer earned his eighth-consecutive top-ten finish at Michigan International Speedway Sunday, taking the checkered flag in sixth. The Kansas native is currently on the bubble in the Chase for the Championship field, the highest-ranked driver in the standings currently without a victory. NASCAR heads to the half-mile bullring at Bristol this weekend.
