O'Neal Takes Whiskey 50 Win at Lawrenceburg
Clint Bowyer Racing dirt late model driver Don O'Neal continued his season of domination Saturday with his victory in Lawrenceburg, Ind., at the Whiskey 50. "The Real Deal" took the lead on Lap 4 en route to his 39th career series win. O'Neal is now 40 points behind Jimmy Owens for the series points lead.
Speaking of Bowyer, the Kansas native finished 17th Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. He is on the bubble for making the NASCAR Chase for the Championship as the series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for this weekend's race.
On the NHRA side, John Force has the opportunity for an unprecedented weekend. The series is in Indianapolis for the US Nationals which is also the home of the Traxxas Nitro Shootout, an all-star event featuring the top nitro drivers from both Top Fuel and Funny Car. So in addition to a potential Big Go win and a victory in the Shootout, Force has a chance to win a third Wally due to the Funny Car final from Brainerd being rained out and being postponed to this weekend.
