PEAK® Automotive Helps Tailgaters Stay Prepared for Football Season
Tips and products for both the seasoned professional and amateur tailgater

PEAK® Automotive Products knows there's more to football season than just showing up for the game. Tailgating has been a long-standing tradition, and as we enter the heart of the college and professional football seasons, these are some tips all tailgaters should remember:

STAY SPIRITED

  • Wear your team colors with a jersey, sweatshirt, jacket or anything that shows you're a true fan. Bonus points for those who wear retro jerseys.
  • Decorate your car with window clings, magnets, a new paint job or flags to show your team spirit. This will also help friends and family find your tailgate area faster.

STAY PROTECTED

  • Use a shade structure like a tent or awning. It can be a life-saver in either extremely hot weather or inclement rainy weather.
  • Often times there is not enough time to pack up your tailgating gear prior to the start of the game, so drag all of your gear to the center of the tent and use bicycle locks to lock it all together. Lower your tent so that it's only a few feet above the ground, and use a lock to connect your gear to one of the tent's top braces.
  • For cold-weather tailgates, a heater will protect you from freezing. PEAK® Programmable Heater/Defroster is portable and includes an adjustable stand that directs air stream where you want it to go.

STAY SOCIAL

  • Tailgating is a social event. Make friends by discussing the day's games, players on injured reserve, or by sharing your own tailgating tips and tricks.
  • Incorporate games into your tailgate like the always popular beanbag toss or "cornhole" and ladderball.

STAY HYDRATED

  • Freeze your water – this will keep your bottles of water cold and the frozen bottles can also be used as freeze packs.
  • Keep your cold items cold longer with a powered fridge like the PEAK® Cooler/Warmer that can plug directly into your lighter socket and stays insulated even when unplugged.
  • Pre-determine how much your party will drink and then bring 25–50 percent more because additional friends always gather and you don't want to be caught with an empty cooler.

STAY WELL-FED

  • Plan your menu and do all the prep work prior to the tailgate.
  • There is nothing like the smell of a charcoal grill. Charcoal grills are the best option for tailgating and are more affordable than most people think. When grilling, remember to keep your grill going at 350 to 400 degrees; any more or less and you're risking undercooked meat.

STAY PLUGGED-IN

  • Bring the comforts of home to the game. A blender, coffee maker, electric kettle, television and radio can all be powered by the PEAK® 400 Watt Tailgate power inverter. Allowing you to look like a seasoned professional.
  • Even after a win and great tailgate party you have to go home sometime. Make sure you can make it home with the PEAK® portable power stations that combine the functionality of PEAK® Jump-Starters with everything you need to get your tailgate back on the road.
